Project fail: ZWW sweatshirt

To be fair to this project, it is a beautiful finished project in my estimation. It’s just very small.

The sweatshirt is small as drafted - as usual my current measurements are at end of post - FB is currently 34”, and it’s tight. The arms in particular could use ease for basically anyone, I imagine. The bigger reason this thing is unwearably tiny is that I completely neglected direction of stretch, and this is a true 2 way stretch fabric. So a couple of things working against me.

I hope I do come back to this pattern to make it again - figuring it out was, as is the case with zero waste/ foreign language projects in general, a fun challenge. Now I sort of know how to grade it up so it will fit me. But I unfortunately don’t have more of this hideously safety yellow which I truly love for this particular garment. Imagine it big enough to fit me, biking along after dark. Beautiful.

I actually didn’t take much in the way of progress/working it out photos, which will make making it again still a challenge. That said, I’m hoping to take more thorough ones next time to make a quasi tutorial for you/myself/whomever out there is curious about the whole shebang. Hoping because I’m entering into make things for xmas mode, finishing up October things, just being realistic about how soon I’ll be back into make a sweatshirt. Especially since the wild yellow isn’t an option to inspire me!

In order to save the project, I shortened the arms up so my kid could wear it, which if he ever does, will be extremely cute as evidenced by the top photo here!
