Alamain Pleat Top

This feels like the most viral pattern I’ve ever made (at least while it was blowing up), though it’s hard to tell what with instagram hashtags being useless now and not being on Threadloop (i can’t get the handle eigenmotion! i refuse!). Anyway it’s worth the hype imo.

This was another piece I made with Lugo in mind, and specifically I was looking for something to pair with my Squiggle Trousers to create an elevated streetwear look. The fabric is a cotton I picked up when the former local fashion school was closing out stock. I’m using what’s probably properly the back, because the long floats really evoked frequencies to me. There are also floats on the other side of the fabric but they are much smaller - where the corners of the squares are black on this side.

Making it was a nice straightforward treat - good illustrations, instructions for french seams that covered how to do the slit, with mitred corners. All the stuff I’d want to do finish-wise but without having to hem and haw over it!!! I’m so excited to make the Chisel top next because design-y and well made without having to think so hard all the time is the dream.

As usual with straightforward/happy makes, I have little else to say. This went well. I was excited while I was putting it together. I loved looking at the weird pattern shape produced by the pleats. Dreamy!
